Released on April 5, 2024 on all streaming platforms and available only in digital format, Jouer, says the musician Valerio Chiovarelli: “more than a recording, this work documents my meeting, from which a friendship of esteem and mutual love, with the great Marcel Azzola who asked me to record something together. He left Paris by car on a Friday morning at the age of 89 together with his historic pianist Lina Bossatti, they arrived at 10.30pm and it was a weekend of great emotions in the studio with them. The songs chosen by both (arranged by Valerio Chiovarelli) are of both French and Italian origin precisely to remain in our deepest being. It does not want to be a record based solely on the accordion but rather on the sound that the instrument can express outside the usual virtuosity.”
