“NEW WAY”

From November 10, 2023 “NEW WAY” (Art in Live / Egea Music) is available, the album by TRAVEL COLLECTIVE, the collective formed by the jazz duo MARCO VEZZOSO and ALESSANDRO COLLINA and 7 other artists from around the world , preceded by the song “RAIN IN SEOUL” (https://artinlive.org/album/rain-in-seoul-single).

The album is made up of 9 tracks which act as a bridge between the different origins of the collective and the musical worlds which range from jazz to classical music, through world music, to pop, to create a profound feeling of community and union between different countries.

The project aims to promote understanding, open-mindedness and unity between people from different cultural backgrounds, highlighting how music can act as a universal language that connects people around the world.

“The choice of a collective for our new album comes from the need to explore new sound universes. After our old album “Travel”, the compositions were further enriched with exotic atmospheres and more – say Marco Vezzoso and Alessandro Collina – Many memories, images, places, people met resurface in the trumpet melodies and the harmonies of the piano.

Each track on the album is named after a city she wants to tell a story about, incorporating its musical elements and rhythms; the album title itself, “New Way”, suggests a sense of movement and discovery, inviting the listener to embark. on a musical journey through the sounds and stories of the different countries and genres represented.

Here is the tracklist for “New Way”: “Rain In Seoul”, “M. Kerpatenko”, “Kyoto Flowers”, “No Black Tie In Kuala Lumpur”, “Dubai’s Moon”, “Paris En TGV”, “Osaka Bridge” , “Nice Nissa” and “Hangin’ Out In Sanya”.

“Mr. Kerpatenko” is the only song contained in “NEW WAY” sung by Cecilia Barra. The voice of Fool Arcana (winning duo of Jam The Future) performs a touching text dedicated to the Ukrainian head of the Kherson Philharmonic Yuriy Kerpatenko, killed by the Russian army at his home for refusing to perform at a concert organized by the employment forces.

TRAVEL COLLECTIVE is a cultural and musical mosaic composed, in addition to MARCO VEZZOSO (trumpet) and ALESSANDRO COLLINA (piano), ANDREA MARCHESINI (percussion), DOMINIQUE DI PIAZZA (bass) and NEYVELI S. RADHAKRISHNA (violin), three artists with whom the duo has already collaborated in the past, to which are added KEVIN SAURA (guitar), KHALED BEN YAHIA (ud), PRAVEEN NARAYAN (tabla) and CECILIA BARRA (vocals).
